Yes, I know it’s too early for Christmas carols but I can never resist a pun, so this is just a quick update on my night up West with one of my favourite gal pals – Ruthy Ruth who helped me get my work mojo back many months ago. We loved The Ivy – all swank and bubbles, a fab place for a pre theatre supper if ever I found one.
The show was great too.
We waited for an hour at the stage door to get our programmes signed. We had a few giggles with some of the other people waiting. Shortly a crowd of people arrived, they hadn’t been to the show, they just wanted a piece of the stage door action. I was introduced to a new subculture and realised…there’s a nerd for everything. I was privy to the world of the theatre geeks. They were ready for their close up, magazines, photos, video cameras, the works.
In the midst of the flash bulbs, out came the product of Truman Capote’s vivid imagination – Holly, tripping the light fantastic.
Miniminx was delighted this morning when I gave her a signed programme for the show, with her name on it!
The Holly Golightly legend lives on. And me? Yes a little starstruck and quite pleased at the way my little snapshot came out.
